Mpumalanga has recorded an impressive 86.55% matric pass rate in the 2025 National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations, marking a notable improvement from the 84.9% achieved in 2024. The province’s performance contributes to South Africa’s historic national pass rate of 88%, one of the highest on record.

The official announcement of the results was attended by Mr Solly Nhambe, Mister Mpumalanga 2025 – 2nd Runner-Up, who represented the Mister Mpumalanga brand on behalf of the reigning titleholder, Mr Sandile Christo Gama. His presence underscored the continued role of youth leadership and positive representation at key provincial milestones.

A special congratulations goes to Luyanda Ndlozi of Elangwana Secondary School, who emerged as Mpumalanga’s top achiever and secured a place among the Top 40 performers nationally — a remarkable achievement that reflects both personal dedication and strong academic support.

As the Class of 2025 celebrates this milestone, the improved results stand as a testament to the hard work of learners, educators, parents and school communities across Mpumalanga. Congratulations to all who contributed to this success.
