Earlier this morning, 21 August 2024, a large tree fell across Camden Avenue, near the intersection with General Botha Road, temporarily blocking both lanes.

The incident is believed to be linked to recent veld fires in the area, which likely weakened the tree and led to its collapse.

Van Wettens Towing Services, Spartan Training and Security, and the Msukaligwa Municipality collaborated to clear the road. Although the municipality arrived a few minutes later, they completed the final work to fully reopen the street.

Mandla Zwane, the spokesperson for the Msukaligwa Municipality, confirmed that the cleanup had been completed and that the road is now open to travel.
