A group of talented sub-district learners will represent their schools at the Gert Sibande District Athletics Meeting, set to take place on 14 February in Secunda.
The learners earned their selection following strong performances at recent athletics events and will compete across a range of track and field disciplines. Those selected are Sima Sithole (100m), Mpilo Zimu (80m, 70m hurdles, long jump), Fisokuhle Mango (100m, 200m), Uma Tshwala (high jump, 100m), Luthando Zwane (80m, 100m), Ulilitha Dladla (150m, 100m), Amahle Vilakazi (long jump, 100m, 150m), Isabella Mahlangu (high jump), Udoka Ikewote (shot put – absent from the photo) and Lesego Moloi (70m hurdles).
The athletes will compete against top performers from across the district, with the meeting serving as an important platform to showcase emerging talent. School officials have praised the learners for their discipline and commitment, wishing them well as they prepare to represent their schools at district level.
