A tragic incident occurred in the early hours of this morning, 21 May 2026, on the R39 between Standerton and Morgenzon, where nine people lost their lives following a collision involving a minibus taxi and a bus.
According to reports, eight people sadly passed away at the scene, while another later succumbed to injuries while being transported to hospital. Several others sustained injuries and are receiving medical attention.
The exact cause of the accident remains under investigation.
