On Saturday, 4 November 2023, Ligbron's first girls’ cricket team took on Noordheuwel High School from Krugersdorp in a semi-final match of the Noordvaal Cricket League. Though the victory went to Noordheuwel, Ligbron's girls displayed remarkable sportsmanship and determination throughout the game, establishing themselves as worthy opponents.

Under the capable leadership of their captain, Amelia Brummer, the Ligbron team has had an incredible season to be proud of. Their journey to the semi-finals has been nothing short of inspiring. The team claimed the title of Mpumalanga champions by defeating Generaal Hertzog High School of Witbank, showcasing their potential early in the season.

This relatively young team has become a rising force in girls' cricket. Despite falling short in the semi-final, they have left a mark in the Noordvaal Cricket League and set the stage for future sports excellence.

A special mention goes to the team's coaches, Ms. Chante van Greunen and Mr. Pieter van der Merwe, for their guidance and mentorship.

Ligbron's girls’ cricket team can hold their heads high, knowing that they have a bright future in the cricket world. We eagerly anticipate their next season.
