Netherland Park Secondary School proudly marked a significant milestone this year with its first-time participation in the Computer Applications Technology (CAT) Olympiad.
The first round of the competition was held on 10 April, with 32 Grade 11 and 12 learners representing the school. Nationally, a total of 109 schools took part. Through dedication and determination, Netherland Park achieved an impressive 5th place overall — an outstanding accomplishment for a first-time entry. Even more notably, 18 learners advanced to the second round.
Two learners stood out in particular: Mxolisi Masina (Grade 11) and Uzothandwa Mkhwanazi (Grade 12), who earned second place in the Mpumalanga province. This is a remarkable achievement and a testament to their talent and hard work.
