The Knockdhu Familiepretdag, hosted earlier in August 2025 by the Chrissiesmeer Boerevereniging, delivered a high-octane blend of rally thrills and family-friendly entertainment, attracting a crowd that far exceeded expectations.

Held under clear skies, the event welcomed families, outdoor enthusiasts, and adrenaline junkies alike. The day kicked off with the ever-popular familieretroete — a lighthearted rally route peppered with obstacle challenges and games, designed to test both driving skills and teamwork. Crucially, no 4x4 vehicles were needed, allowing broader participation across vehicle types.

For those seeking more speed, a 20km marked route catered to bikes, quads, and side-by-sides, while the dedicated 4km Subaru WRX rally course drew in daring drivers eager to test their abilities behind the wheel. Meanwhile, a series of family rally-style games — including tyre tossing, darts, and frisbee golf — offered fun for all age groups.

A festive atmosphere prevailed throughout the day with food stalls, a cash bar, and branded merchandise from Boerboel Wear available on site. As the sun set, bonfires were lit and braaipakke were made available, encouraging guests to gather, relax, and socialise around the flames.

The evening culminated in a standout performance by local favourite Die LOX band, whose energetic set added the perfect finishing note to an already unforgettable day.

With its strong turnout, inclusive activities, and vibrant community spirit, the 2025 Knockdhu Familiepretdag reaffirmed its place as a staple event on Chrissiesmeer’s social calendar.
