Laerskool JJ van der Merwe’s cricket teams produced a mix of results in their recent fixtures on 11 and 12 August 2025, showcasing both resilience and promise across the age groups.
On 12 August, JJ faced off against Kragbron. The u/10 side went down by 10 wickets, while the u/11s suffered a 50-run defeat. The u/13 team, however, delivered a strong performance, securing a 20-run victory to end the day on a positive note.
A day earlier, on 11 August, JJ’s younger teams took to the field with impressive results. The u/9A side claimed a commanding nine-wicket win over Goedehoop, and the u/9B team overcame Pionier’s u/9A side by four wickets.
These matches not only highlighted the competitive spirit within JJ’s cricket squads but also pointed to the promising talent developing within the school’s junior ranks.
