The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Mpumalanga has confirmed that departmental steps will be taken against a police officer who appeared in videos circulating on social media while singing and dancing in full police uniform.
According to SAPS, the conduct contravenes internal policies and the organisation's Code of Conduct, which prohibit members from recording and sharing such content while in uniform. Police management stated that officers are expected to uphold discipline and professionalism at all times when wearing official attire.
The member involved has been identified and disciplinary processes will follow. SAPS said it will continue to take decisive action against any member whose conduct brings the organisation into disrepute.
