AfriForum's Volksrust branch is continuing its campaign to improve road safety by replacing and installing stop signs across the town, with several more intersections receiving attention over the past month.
According to AfriForum, the project aims to address missing, damaged and faded stop signs that pose a risk to motorists. Volunteers have been identifying problem areas and working to restore road signage where it is needed most.
The organisation says the initiative forms part of its broader community self-help approach, with members stepping in to improve public infrastructure where maintenance has fallen behind. The branch noted that the project has received positive feedback from residents and road users.
AfriForum encouraged community members to report intersections where stop signs require replacement so that they can be assessed for inclusion in future phases of the project.
