Msukaligwa Local Municipality has advised residents of a planned water supply interruption from Wednesday, 29 July, to Friday, 31 July, as the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) carries out maintenance on the Usutu River Government Water Scheme.
The planned maintenance will take place from 06:00 on Wednesday, 29 July 2026, until 06:00 on Friday, 31 July 2026. During this period, there will be no raw water supply from Jericho Dam while four leaks on the Jericho–Kliphoek pipeline are repaired.
The interruption is expected to affect the following areas:
- Ermelo
- Wesselton
- Davel
- KwaDela
- Sheepmoor
Residents and businesses are encouraged to:
- Store sufficient water before the planned shutdown.
- Use water sparingly throughout the outage.
- Avoid non-essential water use, including watering gardens, washing vehicles and filling swimming pools.
Water supply interruptions and low water pressure may continue for a period after the maintenance has been completed while the system is restored and reservoirs recover. The municipality says further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
