Two suspects were arrested after police discovered numerous parcels of suspected counterfeit footwear during Operation Basadi in Ermelo.
According to SAPS, officers stopped and searched a white Toyota Combi towing an Elite trailer at approximately 09:45 on Thursday, 6 August. Both the vehicle and trailer had KwaZulu-Natal registration plates.

Both male suspects aged 34 and 36 were arrested, while the vehicle, trailer and suspected counterfeit goods were seized. The suspects appeared in the Ermelo Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 7 August, and were each granted bail of R1 000.
They are expected to return to court on 7 September. Investigations to determine the authenticity and value of the seized items are continuing.
