AfriForum’s Chrissiesmeer branch says its community projects are helping to address service-delivery shortcomings in the town. The branch has reportedly removed 619 bags of refuse since the beginning of 2026, including 89 bags during July.
A clean-up operation was also conducted at the corner of Bothwell and Percy streets. According to branch chairperson Millicent van den Heever, the cleaner environment has improved the town’s appearance and received positive feedback from visitors.
The branch also continues to cut grass and maintain graves at the local cemetery, while four vehicles participated in an AfriForum mass safety patrol during July. AfriForum said support from local businesses would help it continue these initiatives.
