Young players from Arende Hoëveld Rugby Club in Ermelo took to the field in Nelspruit on Saturday, 22 August, for a full day of junior rugby featuring teams from across Mpumalanga.
The club, which focuses on developing young rugby talent from U7 to U13 level, fielded several teams during the match day at Laerskool Nelspruit and Hoërskool Nelspruit. Under the guidance of coach Rudy Joubert, who has around 30 years of coaching experience, the youngsters had the opportunity to test their skills against teams including Witbank, LRA, Kwaggas and Sportreach.
Arende recorded several impressive victories during the day, with the U13 side producing two dominant performances, while the U12 team also finished unbeaten in its two matches.
