Ermelo High School (EHS) delivered an outstanding performance in the 2026 Highveld Tennis League, winning nine of the 10 official leagues in which the school competed.
The Gert Sibande league matches were played in Secunda and Trichardt on Thursday and Friday, 20 and 21 August, with EHS fielding five boys’ teams and six girls’ teams.
EHS completed a clean sweep in the boys’ divisions, with the first, second, third, fourth and fifth boys’ teams all being crowned league winners. The first boys’ team went unbeaten, recording victories over Ligbron, Volksrust, Piet Retief, Standerton, Hoogenhout and Secunda.
The girls also produced strong results. The second, third, fourth and fifth girls’ teams all won their respective leagues, while the first girls’ team finished third. The sixth girls’ team competed in a friendly division and was also named the friendly league winner.

The results meant EHS claimed nine of the 10 official league titles contested — five in the boys’ divisions and four in the girls’ divisions — capping off an impressive two days of tennis for the school.
