Two foreign nationals were arrested after police allegedly found about 180kg of dagga, estimated to be worth R1 million, in a vehicle on the R39 in Morgenzon.
According to Mpumalanga SAPS, the arrests were made at around 08:30 on Thursday, 10 September, during a crime-combating operation involving members of Morgenzon SAPS and the Secunda Flying Squad.
Police reportedly spotted a white Volkswagen Golf with Mpumalanga registration plates and stopped the vehicle for a search.

During the search, officers allegedly discovered 21 bags containing dagga.
The two occupants, aged 30 and 40, were arrested at the scene. Police said preliminary investigations established that both suspects are foreign nationals.
SAPS is working with the Department of Home Affairs to determine their legal status in South Africa.
The dagga was confiscated as part of the ongoing investigation.
The suspects are expected to appear in the Standerton Magistrate’s Court in due course on charges of dealing in dagga.
Mpumalanga Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Apaphia Modise commended the members involved for their teamwork.
