Rietspruit Crushers is looking for a reliable, hardworking and safety-conscious Diesel Mechanic Assistant (Artisan Aide) to join the team in Ermelo in the Workshop / Quarry Operations department. The successful candidate will assist diesel mechanics with daily workshop and site duties relating to the maintenance and repair of quarry vehicles, plant and equipment.
Requirements:
- Matric certificate
- Previous experience in a workshop, mechanical or quarry environment will be an advantage
- Basic knowledge of diesel engines, tools and workshop practices will be an advantage
- Physically fit and able to perform manual work
- Willingness to learn and work under supervision
- Good work ethic, reliability and punctuality
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Own reliable transport to Ermelo or willingness to relocate
- Valid South African ID
- Assist diesel mechanics with servicing, repairs and maintenance
- Help with tools, parts and equipment preparation
- Assist with inspections of trucks, plant and machinery
- Clean components and workshop areas
- Support breakdown assistance and routine maintenance work
- Assist with loading, moving and handling parts safely
- Follow all safety procedures and supervisor instructions
- Perform any other reasonable duties related to the role
