Ligbron Academy’s netball teams made a strong impression at the Gert Sibande Play-offs held on Saturday, 31 May, at Standerton High School. Competing against top teams from the region.
The U/16 A team delivered an outstanding performance, finishing in second place after a series of tightly contested matches. The school’s first team also put in a solid effort, ending the tournament in fourth place. Both teams’ results mean they will advance to the Mpumalanga Play-offs, set to take place in Middelburg on 20 and 21 June.

This achievement marks another proud moment for Ligbron’s netball programme, and excitement is already building ahead of the provincial event. With continued support from the school, the Liggies are aiming to leave their mark on the next stage of the competition.
