Members of the Ermelo Athletic Club took to the road once again, this time participating in the annual Bell’s Bethal Race — a popular fixture on the regional running calendar. Known for its supportive atmosphere and well-organised event, the Bethal race attracted athletes from across Mpumalanga, including a strong contingent from Ermelo.
The club’s runners delivered solid performances across multiple distances. Nico Weweje led the 10km field for the club with a swift time of 47:00, followed by Zelda Keyzer in 49:41, Jodine Venter in 57:59, and Annaline Weweje in 1:25. In the 21km race, Andries Koekemoer completed the half marathon in 2:05, while Frik Henning and Yolanda Rautenbach both finished in 2:28. Cicile Koekemoer also took part in the 4.9km event, finishing in 51:01.
