The Ermelo gymnasts are currently training hard to qualify for Mpumalanga Colours and to represent our province at the South African Championships. As part of their preparation, four local gymnasts competed in a major competition in Kempton Park on Saturday, 16 August, where they achieved outstanding results.

Tajana Pienaar (Level 4, 12 years old) performed exceptionally well, securing 1st place on the beam and finishing 3rd overall in the competition. Stewart Boyder (Level 4, 13–16 years old) earned an impressive series of medals, including 2nd place on the parallel bars, as well as 3rd places on floor, rings, pommel horse, vault, and high bar. His consistent performances earned him an overall 2nd place.

Sthabile Mazibuko showcased her strength and technique with a 4th place on floor and a 4th place on parallel bars, while Astrid von Wielligh also performed strongly, finishing 4th on floor. These achievements highlight the dedication and hard work of Ermelo’s young gymnasts as they continue to strive for greater heights.

The four gymnasts will compete in the Mpumalanga Trials on 6 September in Nelspruit, where they will have the opportunity to qualify for the South African Championships. We wish them the best of luck with this important challenge and trust that they will represent our province with pride.
