Ligbron Academy of Technology’s golf teams have continued their impressive streak, securing top positions in the recent Gert Sibande Schools Golf League. The final round of the tournament took place in Piet Retief, where Ligbron’s first team emerged as the winners of the A-League, while the second team claimed second place in the B-League.
Both teams have now qualified to compete in the Mpumalanga playoffs during the third school term.
Adding to their list of achievements, Ligbron’s first team also represented the province at the South African Schools Championships and finished as the second-best team in Mpumalanga. They are set to join provincial winners Hoërskool Nelspruit in representing Mpumalanga at the final round of the national championships. The event will be held in Middelburg on 4 and 5 August, where they will go head-to-head with the country’s top-performing school teams.
