Two students from Ermelo English Primary School (EEPS) have achieved a significant milestone by earning spots in the Mpumalanga (MPU) team for the upcoming South African Athletics Championships.
Amahle Vilakazi and Lethu Mkhaliphi demonstrated their athletic abilities during the recent Mpumalanga Trials on Saturday, 16 March 2024. Vilakazi claimed first place in the 100m race, while Mkhaliphi excelled in the hurdles, securing first place in the 80m event and an admirable second place in the 150m sprint.
Their outstanding performances have secured their positions in the MPU Athletics Team, which will represent Mpumalanga in the SA Championships scheduled from 24 March 2024 to 26 March 2024 in Limpopo. This accomplishment shows Vilakazi and Mkhaliphi's talents and reflects EEPS's commitment to fostering athletic excellence.
