After sitting out the 2025 season, Ermelo Rugby Club is officially back on the field and preparing for an exciting and competitive 2026 campaign — and the club is inviting local businesses and partners to be part of this historic comeback.

Founded in 1900, Ermelo Rugby Club is one of the oldest and most respected sporting institutions in the region. For more than a century, the club has produced generations of players while fostering a strong culture of teamwork, discipline and pride.

The club returned to competition in 2024 with an impressive runners-up finish in the MRU league, proving that Ermelo rugby remains a serious force on the field.

Under the leadership of club president Stefan vd Merwe and head coach Nicky vd Walt, the club has set its sights firmly on 2026, with big ambitions to rebuild, grow and re-establish Ermelo Rugby Club as a competitive force — marking the start of an exciting new chapter.

As preparations for the 2026 season gain momentum, a number of essential costs lie ahead, including referee fees, field hire, ambulance services and fuel for away matches. Ermelo Rugby Club cannot take on this journey alone and is calling on the local business community to step forward and back its historic comeback season.

“Sponsorship is not just about funding rugby — it’s about investing in a legacy, a community and a future”.

Through its 2026 sponsorship drive, Ermelo Rugby Club is inviting partners to become part of a proud legacy and help lay the foundation for a strong, competitive future on and off the field.
