Ermelo Athletics Club Shines at Goldi Race in Standerton

Athletes from the Ermelo Athletics Club delivered outstanding performances at the Goldi race held in Standerton on 21 March, competing across the 42km, 21km, and 10km distances. Club members showed determination and consistency, proudly representing their club across all race categories.



In the marathon (42km), Sizo Moshe produced a commendable performance, finishing in a time of 4h50m in the 60–69 age category. His effort over the challenging distance highlights both experience and endurance, setting a strong example for fellow club members.



The half marathon (21km) saw a strong turnout from the club, with Cicile Koekemoer leading the way in 1h55m. She was followed closely by Andries Koekemoer and Mandy vd Merwe, both finishing in 1h57m. Madelein Landman, Leana Lloyd, and Jodine Venter all recorded identical times of 2h09m. Hilda Kotze (2h22m), Leonie Potgieter (2h23m), and Yolanda Rautenbach (2h25m) also delivered solid performances to round off the club’s results in this category.



In the 10km race, Israel Dube stood out with an impressive time of 0h40m, followed by Nico Weweje in 0h49m. Lungelo Mbokodo and Charlene Hlatshwayo both finished in 1h14m, while Annaline Weweje crossed the line in 1h24m. The overall results reflect the dedication and growing strength of the Ermelo Athletics Club, as its athletes continue to perform consistently at regional events.
