The Junxtion Open Pool Competition brought solid competition and lively atmosphere to the venue this past weekend, as eight players went head-to-head in a single-elimination format. Played under 8-ball rules in a race-to-three format, the tournament tested consistency and composure from the opening round through to the finals.
Early rounds saw strong performances from players including Shenge Buthelezi and Fani Msimango, who battled their way through to the semifinals. Charles Wahlstrand also showed form from the start, advancing with a 3–2 win before securing his place in the final with a 3–2 victory over Buthelezi. In the opposite bracket, Msimango edged past Fortune Ngwenya 3–1 to book his spot in the decider.
The final delivered a fitting end to the competition, with Wahlstrand claiming first place after a competitive run, while Rasta Msimango finished second. Organisers described the event as a success, with a strong turnout, good sportsmanship, and an atmosphere that reinforced Junxtion’s growing reputation as a go-to spot for local pool action.
