The recent training seminar hosted by the Ermelo Karate Academy and led by internationally renowned Japanese karate master Manabu Murakami proved to be a major success, attracting karateka from across Mpumalanga and surrounding areas. Students travelled from Nelspruit, Standerton, Piet Retief, Secunda and Ermelo to take part in the rare opportunity to train with the 8th Dan Shotokan master.
The seminar, organised by local Sensei Eugene Smith, gave students the chance to sharpen their techniques under the guidance of one of the most respected names in international Shotokan karate. Participants also had the opportunity to take photographs with Murakami Shihan and receive valuable advice and corrections aimed at improving their karate skills and overall understanding of the discipline.
The atmosphere throughout the evening was described as energetic and inspiring, with karateka of different ages and experience levels training side by side. For many attendees, it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn directly from a multiple-time world champion and current Chief Instructor of the Shotokan Karate International Federation (SKIF).
