The learners of Lumina Academy recently visited the local library at the Gert Sibande Regional Offices as part of their learning and reading development programme. The visit provided learners with valuable insight into the importance of books, reading, and the role libraries play within the community.
The outing proved to be both educational and enjoyable for all involved. During the visit, learners were introduced to how a library operates, including its filing systems and organisational structure, while also gaining a deeper understanding of its importance as a community resource.
Learners were given the opportunity to engage practically by browsing books, preparing short talks, and experiencing first-hand the wealth of knowledge that books provide. It was another Friday filled with learning, curiosity, and excitement.
Lumina Academy extends its sincere gratitude to the staff at the Gert Sibande offices for making the visit possible and for their warm hospitality. The experience left a lasting and meaningful impression on the learners.
