The Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) has warned motorists to be on the lookout for fraudulent emails claiming they owe overdue traffic fines and demanding immediate payment.
According to the RTMC, scammers are sending emails that falsely appear to be official communications from the National Traffic Information System (NaTIS) and the Department of Transport. The emails urge recipients to settle outstanding traffic fines through a fraudulent website in an attempt to steal money or personal information.
The RTMC identified the website natis.online.services as a fake platform and warned that it is not an official government website.
The corporation stressed that its official online NaTIS services do not send traffic fine notices to motorists via email. Any email claiming to be from the official NaTIS online services platform and requesting payment of traffic fines should therefore be treated as fraudulent.
Motorists are urged not to click on suspicious links, provide personal information, or make payments through unverified websites. Anyone unsure about the legitimacy of a communication is encouraged to verify information through official government channels before taking any action.
