Hosted by the Japan Karate Association (JKA), the Indo Pacific Cup will bring together competitors of all ages and belt levels from across the region to compete on an international stage. The tournament serves as a major regional championship, featuring demonstrations and high-level competition from elite practitioners, while also acting as an important preparatory event ahead of the JKA World Championships scheduled for October 2027 in Takasaki, Japan.
Alexis has already built an impressive record through her commitment to karate. Among her notable achievements is earning a bronze medal in kumite at the South African JKA Karate Tournament, a result that reflects both her hard work and her potential to compete on the international stage.
To compete at the Indo Pacific Cup, Alexis is required to raise R45 000 to cover travel, accommodation, tournament fees and related expenses. A deposit of R25 000 was due earlier in June, with the remaining R20 000 required by the end of July. According to information provided, every contribution, regardless of size, will assist in making this opportunity a reality.
Supporters and local businesses are encouraged to assist, with organisers noting that sponsorship not only contributes to Alexis’s journey but also supports youth development and the growth of sport within the community. Backing young athletes such as Alexis plays a vital role in building future national representatives.
