According to information received, the security company was tipped off on Sunday morning that stolen sheep were expected to be transported later that afternoon. Acting on the information, a team of approximately six to seven operators launched an operation and intercepted the suspected vehicle at around 15:00.
Seven sheep, which had already been slaughtered, were allegedly found inside the vehicle.
Further investigation led the team to a facility where the sheep were believed to have been slaughtered. The operation then led to the recovery of a further four lambs which had not yet been slaughtered or transported, but were already dead.
A total of 11 stolen sheep were recovered through the operation, while three suspects were apprehended in connection with the incident.
