A collision involving a truck and a passenger vehicle claimed one life and caused significant traffic disruptions on the N2 near Camden Power Station, between Ermelo and eMkhondo, on Monday, 12 October.

According to SA Trucker, the collision occurred at approximately 14:30 and involved a sedan and a side-tipper truck. Both vehicles caught fire.

The sedan driver died after becoming trapped inside the burning vehicle. The truck overturned during the incident, leaving its driver seriously injured.

Emergency services responded to the scene, but the sedan driver could not be saved.

Burnt-out wreckage obstructed the road, causing traffic to back up in both directions. Motorists and truck drivers were still experiencing delays at approximately 16:30 that afternoon.

The circumstances surrounding the collision remain unclear. The cause has not been independently confirmed.
