On Thursday afternoon, a serious accident involving three trucks occurred on the R33 a few kilometres outside of Carolina. According to reports, reduced visibility caused by smoke from a nearby field fire led to a chain collision involving the three trucks.

The accident resulted in one driver sustaining critical injuries while the other two drivers suffered less severe injuries. All the injured were transported to the nearest hospital for medical care by ER24 and provincial EMS services.

Van Wettens Towing worked tirelessly through the night, clearing the wreckage well into the early hours of Friday morning. During this time, authorities managed traffic around the scene to ensure the safety of other road users.

Local authorities are currently investigating the incident to prevent such occurrences in the future. Drivers are advised to exercise caution in areas with potential visibility hazards and to stay updated on local conditions.
