Residents in Wesselton Extension 6 and 11 are currently without electricity following an unplanned power disruption reported on the morning of 7 November 2025. According to Msukaligwa Local Municipality (MLM), the outage was caused by a faulty medium-voltage (MV) supply cable resulting from cable theft that occurred in the early hours of 6 November 2025. Technicians are already on site conducting fault-finding and repair work.
MLM has urged all affected residents to treat the electrical network as live while repairs are underway. At this stage, there is no confirmed restoration time. The municipality has apologised for the inconvenience and thanked the community for their patience while efforts continue to restore power safely.
