The Umkhonto Wesizwe (MK) and African Transformation Movement (ATM) parties have raised concern over the Msukaligwa Local Municipality’s failure to respond to a memorandum of demands handed over during a protest action last year.
The march saw members of both parties move to the Msukaligwa Municipality offices, where a document was submitted highlighting frustrations around the Kwa Mabuza Relocation Project, ongoing water interruptions, electricity challenges, and broader service delivery concerns.
In a follow-up engagement, Sipho Tshabalala, Chairperson of the Msukaligwa Subregion for Umkhonto Wesizwe, said the lack of response from municipal management is unacceptable and has prompted further action.
“We will be writing directly to the Municipal Management, condemning their conduct of not responding to pressing issues that affect our communities and also indicating our intentions of intensifying our next programme of action,” Tshabalala said.
iNews will publish the municipality’s response should one be received.
