On Tuesday 15 December, Msukaligwa Local Municipality has given notice of a planned power outage that will commence on Sunday. This follows after the 88KV substation was damaged by lightning and fire on Monday afternoon. The electricity supply will be interrupted on Sunday 20 December from 07:00 till 19:00. Affected areas will be: • Ermelo South (John Vorster Park and De Bruin Park) • Extension 14 & 18 • Portion of Cassim Park • Nederland Park • Extension 32, 33, 34 and New Ermelo • Portion of Extension 5 and Old Wesselton • Portion of the CBD • Industrial MLM also appealed in their notice to the people affected by the power outage to bear with them as bad weather conditions may prolong the planned time. The municipality also urges the affected areas to switch off all electrical appliances and treat electrical infrastructure as being live to avoid any damage.
