On Friday, 3 September, the Markhams clothing store in Ermelo Mall was robbed by four men. Capt Carla Prinsloo, SAPS Ermelo Spokesperson, said the men entered the store, pretending to be customers. After pretending to fit clothes in the fitting room, one robber approached a cashier and pointed a firearm at the cashier. The robber then demanded that the assistant manager should open the cash register. The robbers then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and five cell phones.
