Matric Results Are Almost Here — Here’s How to Check Yours Online

With only a few hours left for the Class of 2025 before matric results are officially released, thousands of candidates across South Africa are preparing to receive their National Senior Certificate (NSC) results.

The national matric pass rate will be announced on Monday, 12 January 2026, with individual results becoming available from Tuesday, 13 January 2026. For learners who are unable to collect their official Statement of Results in person, results can be accessed quickly and conveniently using the official online and mobile platforms listed below.

 

Online via the Department of Basic Education (DBE) Website

Candidates can view their results on the Department of Basic Education’s official matric results portal.

To access your results, you will need:

  • Your exam number
  • Your ID number

This is one of the fastest and most reliable ways to check results once they are released.


SMS Results

Learners can receive their results directly on their cellphone by sending their:

  • Exam number and ID numberto 35658

(Standard SMS rates apply.)


USSD Code

Candidates can also access their results by dialling the USSD code:

  • 120*35658#

Follow the prompts and enter your details to receive your results on your phone.



IEB Candidates

Learners who wrote through the Independent Exations Board (IEB) can access their results through the IEB’s official online platforms and school communication channels.

Online and mobile results are for information purposes only. Learners must still collect their official Statement of Results for university, college and job applications.
