The English Primary School in Ermelo witnessed an extraordinary display of athleticism and teamwork on Saturday, 20 January 2024, at their Interhouse Athletics. Three spirited teams, Falcons, Eagles, and Hawks, competed fiercely for victory in a day filled with excitement and sportsmanship.
This day was special because it was the first time that Grade R Learners, the youngest students, joined in the fun. They also added hurdles for the first time, making the sports even more exciting. Another first was that parents were there, cheering on their kids and even participating in some races.
The sports day was filled with various events, from sprints to relays, with each team showcasing their talents. The athletes wore their school colours proudly, creating a vibrant and lively atmosphere on the field.
The Falcons were on fire, scoring an impressive 304 points and securing their spot at the top. The Eagles scored 261 points, claiming a well-deserved second place. The Hawks showed great spirit with 205 points, rounding off the scores.
