A stolen Toyota Quantum was successfully recovered on Monday, 19 January 2026, following a coordinated operation between ACSU Security Services and the South African Police Service, along with various other private security services such as, Stratcon Security Services and Highveld Security Services.

The vehicle, which was reportedly stolen in Tembisa, was first spotted near Bethal. Stratcon Security Services initiated the pursuit after identifying the suspicious vehicle, while ACSU Security Services tracked its movement and alerted other security partners to assist in the operation.

The joint effort led to the vehicle being intercepted in Ermelo, where members of the Ermelo SAPS took over the operation. Two suspects were arrested in connection with the stolen vehicle.

According to ACSU representative Oubaas de Jager, the operation highlights the importance of rapid response and cooperation between private security companies and law enforcement in combating vehicle-related crime.

Very good work, gentlemen,” De Jager said, in recognition of the quick and effective cooperation between private security and the police. The incident highlights how cooperation between private security services and law enforcement authorities can resolve vehicle thefts quickly.

The suspects are expected to appear in court soon on charges related to possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
