Scattered showers and thundershowers are forecast over the Highveld and escarpment regions, with a possibility of these storms becoming severe later in the day. Residents can expect heavy rainfall, localized flooding, strong winds, and a chance of hail and excessive lightning.

Potential impacts include:

  • Flooding of roads, settlements, and low-lying areas

  • Closure of some bridges and routes due to standing water

  • Wind damage to structures or trees

  • Hail damage to vehicles and rooftops

  • Fallen trees obstructing main roads

Safety Tips

  • Stay indoors and off the roads if possible

  • Avoid rivers, streams, and flooded streets

  • If water is above ankle level — do not cross

  • If trapped in a car during flooding — abandon and move to higher ground

  • Move valuables to higher ground within buildings
