Hoërskool Ermelo athletes deliver strong week across multiple sports

Hoërskool Ermelo athletes recorded several strong results over the past week across hockey, cycling, shooting and athletics

Hockey

The Erries boys' hockey teams recorded two victories against Hoërskool Standerton. The first team won 3–0, while the U16 team secured a 6–0 victory.



Cycling

Errie cyclists competed in the second XCM race held in Piet Retief, where two riders secured podium finishes. Lauwrens Marais finished first in the Sub-Junior 30km division, while Armand Nel placed second in the Youth 50km category.



Shooting

Hoërskool Ermelo’s shooters participated in the Prize Shooting 1 competition. Lian Müller finished second in the Under-16 division of the Ermelo region.

Athletics

Several Hoërskool Ermelo athletes have been selected to represent Mpumalanga at the ASA Championships as part of the provincial athletics team.

Those selected include:

  • Megan Herbst – U16 Long Jump
  • Luan Greyling – U20 800m
  • Taylor Botha – U18 Javelin
  • Lizé vd Merwe – U18 200m and 400m
  • Mnqobi Mabuza – U18 1500m
  • HJ Hobkirk – U20 High Jump

The selected athletes will compete at the upcoming ASA Championships as part of the Mpumalanga Athletics team.
