The Msukaligwa Local Municipality is gearing up for the 2026 Active Ageing Games, with local elderly participants already preparing for the upcoming event through municipal support initiatives.
Under the leadership of Executive Mayor Alderwoman MP Nkosi, the municipality, through its Transversal Section for Disability and Older Persons, has distributed branded T-shirts to participants from various older persons’ centres across the area.
The 2026 Active Ageing Games are set to take place on 13 May 2026 at AJ Swanepoel Stadium. The annual event brings together local municipalities from across the district, encouraging healthy living, fitness, and social interaction among older persons.
Participants will compete at local level, with selected individuals advancing to represent their municipalities at district level and beyond. Through this continued support, the municipality reinforces its commitment to promoting dignity, inclusion, and active participation among older residents in the community.
