Fed up with worsening road conditions and no action from the local municipality, Ermelo residents have taken mattersβand shovelsβinto their own hands.
In a true act of community spirit, a group of locals is patching potholes using their own materials and time. The repairs are currently underway at the corner of Camden Avenue and Hennie Marais Street, near the entrance to South Centre (old Pick 'n Pay)βa busy intersection.
Despite numerous complaints, the municipality failed to respond. So residents stepped up, choosing action over inaction to make their streets safer.
Motorists are advised to expect minor delays in the area while the community-led repairs are in progress.
