In an impressive display of skill and discipline, twelve karatekas from Ermelo JKA Karate Dojo made their mark at the prestigious SA JKA National Tournament held at the Ellis Park Indoor Arena on May 17th and 18th, 2024. Competing against over 3000 participants, these dedicated karatekas showcased the spirit of true champions.

The tournament, which drew competitors from across the nation, was a testament to these martial artists' hard work and perseverance. The Ermelo JKA team, under the guidance of Sensei Madelein Coetzee, demonstrated exceptional focus and sportsmanship, earning them a remarkable tally of 10 medals.

But the accolades didn't stop there. Seven of Ermelo JKA's finest were awarded the coveted SA JKA National colours, an honour that marks their excellence in karate and their commitment to the values it represents.

The dojo, which has become a beacon of karate in Mpumalanga, is celebrating this achievement as a milestone in their journey. Sensei Madelein and her students are filled with pride, knowing their hard work has paid off in such a grand arena.

Ermelo JKA looks forward to nurturing the next generation of karatekas who will continue to carry the torch of excellence for years.
