SAPS investigating woman’s death at unoccupied property in Ermelo

Police and emergency services responded to a report of an unattended body found in Ermelo early this month, and authorities have confirmed that a formal investigation is underway.  

 

On 4 January 2026, members of the South African Police Service (SAPS), local ambulance crews and forensic teams were called to an unoccupied property on Fourie Street, where they discovered the body of a woman, estimated to be in her 30s.  

 

The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene. According to emergency personnel, there were visible injuries, but the exact cause of death has not yet been established and remains under investigation by law enforcement.  

 

At the time of reporting, SAPS had not released further details about possible suspects or the circumstances leading up to the incident. Authorities are continuing with inquiries and have asked anyone with information to come forward.
