Ermelo English Primary School is proud to announce the outstanding performance of a number of its learners in the 2026 Ermelo SUPERSPAR Art Competition, with several learners earning recognition among the competition's Top 50 artists.
The competition, which attracted more than 600 entries from schools across Ermelo, challenged learners to create artwork under the theme "Our Community, Our Canvas."
Eleven Ermelo English Primary School learners were recognised among the competition's Top 50 artists. They are Hlelowenkosi Nhlabathi (Grade 3), Andiswa Masina (Grade 2), Athandwa Nkosi (Grade 2), Siyanda Hleza (Grade 3), Zendaya Simelane (Grade 3), Zenokuhle Lushaba (Grade 2), Amelokuhle Nhlapho (Grade 3), Boikano Magakwe (Grade 3), Alwande Buthelezi (Grade 3), Emy Mkhwanazi (Grade 2) and Rethabile Ramushu (Grade 2). Zenokuhle Lushaba was absent from the awards ceremony.

The school's success was further highlighted by Grade 6 learner Dre' Iyer, who was named among the competition's Top 5 entries. Grade 5 learner Nokubonga Nyandeni and Grade 4 learner Mpilwenhle Maseko were also recognised among the Top 50 artists, adding to Ermelo English Primary School's impressive showing in the competition.
In addition to the individual accolades, Ermelo English Primary School received a R10 000 cash prize for recording the highest number of Top 50 entries in the competition. The award served as recognition of the exceptional talent and creativity displayed by the school's learners throughout the competition.
