Hoërskool Ermelo's girls' hockey teams delivered another outstanding performance over the weekend, producing impressive results at the Mpumalanga finals and once again showcasing the school's strength in the sport.
The U14 side secured third place in the province after defeating Lydenburg 3-1. The U15 team finished as Mpumalanga runners-up after a narrow 2-1 defeat to Middelburg with just eight seconds remaining, while the U16 team claimed the provincial title with a dramatic 2-1 sudden-death victory over Middelburg. The second team also finished as provincial runners-up after losing 2-0 to Middelburg, while the first team were crowned Mpumalanga champions following a 2-1 win over Nelspruit.
All of Ermelo's girls' hockey teams have qualified for the Noordvaal A Tournament, which will take place from 5 to 9 August. The school wished all of its players well as they prepare to represent Ermelo on the regional stage.
