The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has revised its November 2026 social grant payment dates ahead of the Local Government Elections scheduled for Wednesday, 4 November.
The revised schedule, approved by National Treasury, will see payments begin on Friday, 30 October, to ensure beneficiaries receive their grants without disruptions during the election period.
The updated payment dates are as follows:
- Friday, 30 October: Older Persons Grants
- Monday, 2 November: Disability Grants
- Tuesday, 3 November: Children's Grants
- Thursday, 5 November: Payments for beneficiaries whose grants are under review
According to SASSA, the changes followed consultations with stakeholders to ensure payments are processed efficiently and securely.
Beneficiaries whose grants are under review have been urged to respond to official communication and attend scheduled review appointments when requested.
SASSA also advised beneficiaries not to visit its offices unnecessarily, as payments will be processed according to the revised schedule.
The agency encouraged grant recipients to rely on official communication channels for accurate information and to remain cautious of misinformation.
