A group of talented young athletes from Laerskool JJ van der Merwe is gearing up to represent their school and community at the Mpumalanga Provincial Championships, set to take place on 8 March in Secunda.
The following athletes will be representing their school at the Mpumalanga Provincial Championships, competing in various track and field events:

- Mckaylee de Villiers – Long Jump, 800m
- Laila van Rooyen – Javelin
- Mianke Theton – 75m Hurdles, 150m Hurdles, 150m
- Luney Robberts – 1200m
- Lwandle Sigudla – 1200m
- Lanique Lubser – High Jump
- Donnè Steyn – High Jump, 70m Hurdles
- Lea Jacobs – Shot Put
- Li-Kyle Human – 75m Hurdles
- Miane Kearney – Long Jump

Despite having only a few weeks of intensive preparation since the school year began in mid-January, these determined athletes are ready to give their all as they chase podium finishes. Their rapid progress in a short time highlights both their commitment and resilience. The community stands firmly behind them, offering unwavering support as they face some of the province’s most promising young competitors.
