Ermelo’s karate prodigies, Chibuzo and Chinedu Okpugo, have once again made their mark — this time at the KSA Champ of Champs Style-Block Championship held recently in Durban. Representing the Ermelo Karate Academy, both brothers delivered standout performances that added to their growing list of national accolades.

- Chibuzo Okpugo claimed Gold in his division, displaying remarkable skill and focus throughout the competition.
- Chinedu Okpugo earned Bronze, rounding off another impressive showing for the siblings who continue to inspire the next generation of karate students in Ermelo.
Their rivalry and teamwork have become a defining feature of the academy’s recent success, pushing both to excel on the national stage.

The twins now turn their attention to the KSA League 2 Championship, taking place from 18–19 October at the Portuguese Hall in Gauteng. This event marks their final major competition of the year and will determine their overall standing for the 2025 season.
The Ermelo Karate Academy, under the guidance of Sensei Eugene Smith and Sensei Milton Msizwe, continues to shine as one of Mpumalanga’s most successful dojos, with the Okpugo twins leading the charge.
